Programs & Services

Adult Day Services Health and Therapeutic Programs
Christian Health Care Adult Day Services is not a one-size-fits-all program but, rather, a customizable set of resources. With input from the client, his or her caregivers, and personal physician, an individualized care plan is created to help the client receive the maximum benefit from the program.

Our full-time registered nurse monitors clients’ medical progress, administers medication, and serves as a liaison between doctor and family. Vital signs are checked regularly, diabetic and tuberculosis screening tests are offered, and flu and pneumonia vaccines are available. Other services include physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as psychiatry and podiatry services.

Personal Care Services
Because looking and feeling good contribute to one’s self-esteem and well-being, Christian Health Care Adult Day Services offers personal-care services to clients in the program. Shower facilities, shaving, hair care (barber and hairdresser), and nail care all contribute to helping clients maintain their sense of self and feelings of dignity.

A full range of activities designed to educate, stimulate, and entertain is offered. A typical schedule might include:

  • morning stretch exercises,
  • talks on healthy aging, and
  • nutritional tips and fitness advice.

Trips to nearby shopping malls, nature walks, sing-alongs, games and contests, and informative lectures are also scheduled. Intergenerational activities and talks about current events help keep minds alert and encourage discussion. Themed events, barbecues, and birthday parties are sources of fun and friendship.

Christian Health Care Adult Day Services clients also enjoy seasonal and multicultural activities, from Valentine’s Day and Halloween parties to Hawaiian luaus and Mexican fiestas. And each year, more than 150 people enjoy the annual family Christmas party.

Counseling and Family Support
Christian Health Care Adult Day Services’ social worker offers individual and family counseling, conducts support groups, and provides information on home care and long-range planning.

Families of clients enrolled in Adult Day Services may also participate in one of the many caregiver support groups offered at CHCC.
