“I came to Christian Health Care Center because I needed a job and have stayed because of the support that I have received over the years from leadership and my colleagues. They have helped me to develop skills that I didn’t even know I had. Leaders have regularly expressed confidence in my abilities and provided me with opportunities to learn and grow. I stay because I can make a difference in the lives of our residents and patients, in the lives of their family members, and in the lives of my co-workers.”

  • I joined Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) for...
“I joined Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) for the opportunity to further my education, learn new skills and about the latest technology in the field of nursing, and to work with employees who take pride in their work and are committed to their patients. I enjoy working at CHCC simply because it gives me the opportunity to be a part of a dedicated team of nurse professionals. CHCC is a unique, inspiring place to work with the best staff and most challenging and rewarding patients. It is the best place to become a stronger clinician and person. CHCC is one of the greatest companies to work for. There is excitement, fun, and gratification each and every day. We feel valued and important. We are proud to be CHCC employees.”

  • Why do I stay at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC)?
“Why do I stay at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC)? There are times that I truly ask myself this question. While I love working with the elderly, it can be challenging and at times, very sad. Yet, I am surrounded by conscientious colleagues who enjoy working together, supportive administration and some of the best CNAs. CHCC has high expectations of care. Whether it is becoming one of the first care centers in New Jersey to move to computers, or expanding our buildings or updating our approaches to care, CHCC does what it takes to best serve our residents. I do believe we are living out our Christian faith as a community here in this place.”

  • I chose to work at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC)
“I chose to work at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) after several years of working in acute-care hospitals and managing a surgical practice. I worked for an outreach program to long-term care (LTC) and covered 22 facilities. I told myself each time I came to CHCC as a consultant that if I ever went into LTC I would choose CHCC out of all the facilities I covered. CHCC showed that it had the heart to really care for people in a highly skilled and quality manner.”

  • When I first joined Christian Health Care Center...
“When I first joined Christian Health Care Center as a part-time bus driver, I had no idea about challenges that I would face, but in a relatively short time at Christian Health Care Adult Day Services of Wayne, I learned to deal with these challenges because of the amazing staff. The CNAs, nurse, and management do a wonderful job in taking care of the clients on a daily basis. I’ve enjoyed learning from and working with these skilled professionals. I am having a great time and a great experience. I look forward to my continued journey with all my friends and peers at Christian Health Care Center.”

  • I joined Christian Health Care Center’s (CHCC) Environmental Services Department
“I joined Christian Health Care Center’s (CHCC) Environmental Services Department as a part-time employee responsible for discharges. Even though my shift didn’t start until 10 a.m., I took the 7 a.m. CHCC shuttle bus from Paterson every morning because I did not have any other form of transportation. I stayed in the Employee Café until my scheduled shift and or if I was needed sooner. It was challenging getting here early and working only part time, but I chose to stay because of the support and teamwork of my supervisors, nurses, administration, and the best CNAs ever! I eventually got a full-time position. I developed skills and knowledge about cleaning rooms and public areas, sanitizing, chemicals, patient and resident needs and teamwork. Thanks to training and my drive to work hard, I was promoted to a Lead Person in two years later. I have since bought a car, and I drive to work every day and I continue to learn and grow at CHCC. CHCC is the best place to become a better person and to have a better life.”

  • Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) is a very important part of my life.
“Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) is a very important part of my life. I’m very happy working at The Longview Assisted Living Residence. Here, our priority is the well-being of our residents, and that, to me, is very important. The staff cares for the residents so much, and the residents are always happy with the care that we provide. The residents’ opinions always count, and the staff opinion always counts. Our suggestions are always taken into consideration. I see myself growing professionally at CHCC. It’s a place where with higher education, the sky is the limit. My co-workers are so nice. I always recommend CHCC to others. I want them to have the same experience that I have here.”

  • I’m a people person, and I like to help others, especially the elderly.
“I’m a people person, and I like to help others, especially the elderly. I like to know that at the end of the day, I helped someone. At The Longview Assisted Living Residence, we care about the well-being of our residents. I like that the residents trust me. I can give a resident a hug. I can hold a resident’s hand. It makes them feel good. I love my job.”

  • I started working at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) as a utility worker.
“I started working at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) as a utility worker in the kitchen when I was 16 years old. Ten years later I am still working here! At 18, I was about to become a father, and the Director of Environment Services (EVS) at that time offered me a full-time position as an EVS Tech II Relief person. It was perfect timing, since I needed health insurance for my child. After six years, I was offered a job at Montclair State University. The EVS Director was flexible and allowed me to work at Montclair State and to continue to work at CHCC part time. My family was growing, and the extra income was beneficial. I appreciate CHCC for giving me a chance to start work at a young age and to continue to support me in the changes that have occurred during my life.”

  • Why do I work at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC)?
“Why do I work at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC)? From day one, the positive atmosphere at CHCC was noticeable. People smiled. People were helpful. People were happy. People were sincere. Honestly, I can still remember the day that I stepped onto campus for my interview with the Director of Nursing and the Human Resources Recruiter. The thing that impressed me the most during the interview process was the attitude of the people conducting the interviews. I got a sense of company loyalty and legitimate job satisfaction. I felt as if I was not only being hired to do a job, but to be part of a family – a family that values Person- and Family-centered Care and patient/family satisfaction, which is something that I value in a health-care environment because this care deals with overall wellness of an individual. I work here because I feel that CHCC embodies this ideal. The care of the patients, their satisfaction, and the satisfaction of their families creates a unique and special bond that makes CHCC an ideal place of employment.”

  • I am very thankful for having the chance and opportunity to be able to work for Christian Health Care Center (CHCC).
“I am very thankful for having the chance and opportunity to be able to work for Christian Health Care Center (CHCC). CHCC has opened doors for me and given me the chance to grow on a professional level. As a certified nursing assistant (CNA), I have been able to work with many patients and acquired day-to-day experiences that leave me joyful by the end of my shift. I have a passion for what I do. When I do my job, I make sure that I sprinkle the love and passion that I have on everything that I do. I love people and I love all my patients. My patients are the reason why I work at CHCC. My patients have helped me grow as a person and as a CNA. The skills that I have now are thanks to them. The care and love I have for my patients are what I bring to CHCC, but the joy and great feeling that they give to me after allowing me to help them is a joy that I can’t get anywhere else. I have worked at CHCC for many years, and as long as I have the strength I will stay with CHCC. At CHCC we have a great team that has given me the opportunity to always be able to provide all patients with the best care. I can truly say that I am very happy and very fortunate to work at CHCC.”

  • I came to Christian Health Care Center to begin a second career.
“I came to Christian Health Care Center to begin a second career. During the past few years, I managed the care of my elder family members. I ventured into the geriatric care field because of my love for people of this generation and my personal experience acting as their advocate. As a Therapeutic Activities Coordinator at Christian Health Care Center, I am using my people skills of diplomacy, a positive attitude, and above all, compassion, as I minister to our long-term care residents and short-term rehab patients. Since I have a desire to learn more in my new field, my supervisors supported my efforts in attending seminars and conferences, and earning credits toward my Activity Assistant Certification, which I recently received. Working at Christian Health Care Center has enabled me to develop my professional skills and increase my knowledge in a creative and supportive environment. It continues to be a rewarding experience as I share my compassion with those we serve.”
