Ramapo Ridge Psychiatric Hospital
Every person matters.
At Christian Health Care Center (CHCC), we have always believed in the value and dignity of each and every person, no matter what challenges he or she might face. Today, Ramapo Ridge Psychiatric Hospital (RRPH) carries on our original mission to provide loving, compassionate care to people with mental illness.
RRPH is a 58-bed psychiatric hospital licensed by the State of New Jersey and accredited by The Joint Commission. The program consists of two divisions: a general adult psychiatric program and a geriatric psychiatric program which specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses including, but not limited to, depression and Alzheimer’s disease. Both programs are designed for adults who require inpatient care, and full-time staff physicians are available to treat non-acute medical problems.
Patients in both programs benefit from a full range of treatment services. An interdisciplinary treatment team develops individualized treatment plans designed to help patients reach their goals. The treatment team includes a:
- psychiatrist (oversees the plan)
- psychiatric nurses and aides
- social worker
- activities therapists
Daily therapeutic treatment includes medication, individual and group therapy, psychoeducation, therapeutic activities, family support, and pastoral services. Family members are included in treatment planning whenever possible and with the patient’s consent. When requested by an individual, faith integration is provided as part of treatment.
