Undergraduate Summer Internship Program

Christian Health is committed to developing the next generation of professionals who want to make a difference in the lives of others. The Undergraduate Summer Internship Program provides students with a chance to explore career interests through targeted work assignments, mentoring, job shadowing, and a lecture series. Interns are involved in meaningful work and projects, attend educational sessions and have the opportunity to network with other interns, clinicians, and senior leaders.

Internships are unpaid, non-clinical, and last for eight weeks during the summer. Interns are required to provide 15 to 20 hours of service per week. Schedules are flexible with the exception of Mondays, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., to attend mentorship and education series.

“My internship at Christian Health taught me about the responsibilities of a registered dietitian (RD) and confirmed that I wanted to pursue becoming an RD,” says Sarah Postma, who was an intern in Food and Nutrition Services. “My internship was extremely beneficial in providing me with practical nutrition experience and ultimately helped me acquire my current post-college dietetic internship. There is a 50-percent national match rate for these internships, and I am incredibly grateful that I was accepted into a program right after graduation.”

PROGRAM UPDATE:
For the health and safety of those we care for, our staff, and the greater community, we have canceled the 2021 Undergraduate Summer Internship Program.
