WYCKOFF, NJ … Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff recently held its 2nd Annual Beefsteak at The Brownstone in Paterson. The event raised nearly $41,000. Proceeds from the fund-raising event will support the Center’s 2014 Annual Fund renovations to Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Special guest speakers were George McGovern, Chapel Coordinator for the NY Giants and NY Yankees, and Kevin Boothe, NY Giants starting guard. George McGovern is on the staff of Athletes in Action, the sports ministry division of Campus Crusade for Christ. He is responsible for leading the team Bible studies, serving as personal chaplain for some of the players and their families, overseeing the in-season chapel services, and helping to organize sports-oriented outreaches around the New York metropolitan area. Kevin Boothe played football for Cornell University and was a three-time All-Ivy League selection and a member of Cornell’s Quill and Dagger society. He was drafted by the NFL in 2006 by the Oakland Raiders and has been a NY Giant since 2007. He has won Super Bowls XLII and XLVI with the Giants.
“The timing of the event, which had a football theme, added to the excitement since people were looking forward to the Super Bowl,” said David Krentel, Foundation Executive Director. “The 300 attendees, including CHCC donors, business partners, staff, and friends, were encouraged to wear jerseys from their favorite team. We also added a live and silent auction this year, which everyone enjoyed.”
Main sponsors of the event were Atlantic Tomorrow’s Office; Empire Ambulance;
