Christian Health Care Center and the Louis Bay 2nd Public Library Present a Free Five-part Series for Adults and Seniors Part One Focuses on Advance Directives and Wills

Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff and the Louis Bay 2nd Public Library in Hawthorne are sponsoring a free five-part series for adults and seniors focusing on topics promoting health, healing, and wellness. The public is invited to join CHCC health-care experts and professionals for informative discussions. The first in the series is being held on Thursday, October 29, and the topic is Advance Directives and Living Wills. Presenters will be Ellen DeBel, RN, C-AL, CDP, The Longview Assisted Living Residence Health Services Director, and Jane Hug, BSN, RN, CHPN, Long-term Care Clinical Educator. All presentations will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Room B at the library, 345 Lafayette Ave. in Hawthorne.

The second in the series will be held on Thursday, November 5, and the topic is Caring for the Caregiver. The presenter will be Teresa DeLellis, LSW, Long-term Care Social Work/Discharge Planning Director. The third in the series will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12, and the topic is Nutrition for Peak Health. The presenter will be Joan Katz, RD, Food and Nutrition Services Chief Dietitian. The fourth in the series will be held on Thursday, Nov. 17, and the topic is On the Move: Exercise and Seniors. The presenter will be Jessica Dunn, Rehabilitation Services Assistant Director. The last in the series will be held on Thursday, Nov. 19, and the topic is Mental Health: A Guide for Families and Caregivers. The presenter will be Elisabeth Micich Otero, MSN, RN-BC, Mental Health and Long-term Care Clinical Educator and Long-term Care Quality Manager.
