The Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) Outreach Team, one of several teams that comprise CHCC’s service-excellence initiative, recently held a food drive to benefit the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation Northern Regional Center in Midland Park. Three members of the Outreach Team delivered 398 items collected by CHCC staff.
“Thank you very much for the fantastic food drive,” said Laura Savage, Emmanuel Cancer Foundation Northern Regional Director. “We are servicing many families in Northern New Jersey and they are so grateful to receive food. As we head into summer, our food pantry goes down. This came at a perfect time.”
The mission of the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation is to provide a variety of specialized services, at no charge, to any New Jersey family facing the challenge of caring for a child with cancer. The non-profit organization accomplishes this through professional in-home counseling; advocacy on behalf of families; material support such as food, clothing, toys, and household items; and emergency financial relief. “When we delivered the food, the staff was so thrilled,” said Kati Rosario, Outreach Team Co-chair. “It was such a good feeling to know that our food drive helped so many community members in need. That is what the Outreach Team is all about!”
The CHCC Outreach Team is based on the Center’s core values to respect and care for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those we serve. The team is dedicated to serving CHCC, as well as neighbors in the local and surrounding areas. Through our relationships with the public, partnerships with local agencies, and with help from employees, the Outreach Team seeks opportunities to respond, assist, volunteer time, and support to communities in need and other non-profit organizations. The team participates in/sponsors community events; coordinates drives for both tangible and monetary donations to assist areas/individuals in need; and seeks opportunities to fundraise for specific causes/projects.
CHCC provides a broad continuum of high-quality, compassionate care, offering superior senior-life, short-term rehab, and mental-health services. As a non-profit organization, we deliver care to our community based upon the Christian principles on which we were founded more than a century ago.
