Reports to
Shift/Hours Full-time 3 to 11 p.m., and part-time 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., 3 to 11 p.m., and 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Job Summary
The Staff Nurse is a registered nurse responsible for providing total patient care to a group of assigned patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process in planning and delivering patient care. The nursing plan of care is integrated into the interdisciplinary treatment plan for wellness and recovery and is consistent with the medical regime as prescribed by the attending psychiatrist and the consulting medical physician when indicated. The Staff RN may act as Charge Nurse when designated by the Supervisor. The Staff Nurse must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and be able to work effectively with patients, personnel, and support staff. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practice. The individual is competent to care for patients in the following age groups: adult (ages 19 to 64) and geriatric (ages 65 +). Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement and vision statement of Christian Health Care Center.

Education Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Previous Experience
One year medical-surgical experience with one-year psychiatric experience preferred. ANCC Psychiatric and Mental Health Certification and or Geriatric certification preferred.

Special Skills/Licenses
Must possess a current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or authorized by permit to practice as an RN in the State of New Jersey. Knowledge of the principles and practices of nursing.
