Paterson resident Norma Tate, a Lead Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff, was recently honored as a CHCC Legend Quarterly All Star. Staff of CHCC nominate co-workers as Legends as part of the Center’s service-excellence initiative. A Legend is someone who exemplifies the mission and values of CHCC in an outstanding and easily recognizable manner, who contributes exemplary service for the benefit of those served at CHCC and beyond, or who demonstrates behavior above and beyond expectations. Mrs. Gordon was nominated by Denise Kish, Organizational Development and Service Excellence Director, and Nancy Mericle, RN, Heritage Manor Nursing Home/Southgate Nursing Services Director.
Ms. Tate is consistently complimented by resident families for the excellent and compassionate care she provides, and how she always understands their wants and needs.
CHCC recently moved Heritage Manor Nursing Home residents from one wing to another. Ms. Tate stepped right up to this challenging task and was instrumental in identifying which residents should be placed where to cause minimal stress. She helped pack residents’ belongings, lead the volunteers who were helping that day, and helped the residents settle in. She coached the Lead CNAs on understanding their new residents and worked diligently in both locations.
“Norma has always amazed me,” said Mrs. Kish. “She is a true leader, a team player, and a role model. Many CNAs tell me they go to her when they need advice, just another indication of her leadership abilities.”
CHCC provides a broad continuum of high-quality, compassionate care, offering superior senior-life, short-term rehab, and mental-health services. As a non-profit organization, we deliver care to our community based upon the Christian principles on which we were founded more than a century ago.
